The first amber stenophlebiid damsel-dragonfly (Odonata, Epiproctophora, Stenophlebiidae) from mid-Cretaceous amber of northern Myanmar

Résumé

Burmastenophlebia flecki gen. et sp. nov., first stenophlebiid damsel-dragonfly in mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber is described and illustrated. It allows to show structures proper to this family, previously unknown. In particular, the subnodus is enforced by a dorsal chitinous bracket and the nodal furrow is very weak, suggesting that the stenophlebiid nodal complex is very particular and did not functioned as in other Odonata.
